With this portfolio piece, I wanted to focus on creating a character with an accompanying cohesive outfit and equipment. And to thereby show my understanding of booth character and clothing workflows. As I had already started a headsculpt of a skaven from the Warhammer fantasy universe, I decided to turn it into a full-body sculpt.
I tried to make the character fit into an iterative and modular workflow by separating the texture sets into 3: the body, the robe, and the equipment. I could have separated the head as well, but I decided against it just to make texturing the body a little bit faster. The texturing itself ended up becoming a little more on the human side, but I felt that it would be fun to show a little bit of a different, less hairy take on the skaven.
